When I saw these earbuds on the display I knew I had to get them… To test them and because they seem to be standard issue at Dollar Tree.

There is no Dollar Tree logo on the packaging but it doesn’t take away from my enthusiasm for this item.

I have earpods but I think I’ll keep them at home to use with FL Studio. I feel better about using these while I’m out and about… I might even get a few more to use as backups.

When to Buy

Buy when you don’t mind if they stop working. Maybe you have a kit to take apart and repair.

The right bud stopped working less than 24 hours after buying.

You need some earbuds that are built to break. The last set of earbuds that you bought them were Apple and they lasted less than two weeks. You don’at want anybody to see that your packing some higher quality earbuds. You want to lead somebody to believe that you are less fortunate before revealing your true stature.

Features

To me, the most important features are the 3.5mm jack, that they are wired, and the bud style.

The volume control is a an appreciated bonus.

These earbuds are for anybody but most people will not be happy with their performance.

What to Like

The price… $1.50 is a considerably low price point considering that most offerings in this style start at around $10. One exception being TARGET’S Deal Worthy earpods. I should have bought them when I saw them.

The look… Pretty damn close to Apple earpods. Just be sure to inspect them before use. A single metal fiber was sticking out of one pod on the one that I bought

What Not to Like

The sound quality… Great for speech. Maybe not for music. AM radio, yeah.

Conclusion

Not acceptable as a an only pair. Do what you must to get Apple. Acceptable for backup so you’re not packing two Apple earpods. Acceptable as dummy pair to conceal Apple earpods until it’s time to use them. Not acceptable for gifting unless the recipient is somebody like me who looks for reason to like rather than a reason to be ungrateful.

Worth the $1.50. Would buy in bulk… that’s just me.
